If you want to come but the ticket price feels like a stretch, there are lots of options to join the volunteers who make the event run smoothly. There are full-time and part-time team options including kids, youth, cafes, Big Top stewarding, venue hosting, production and media. Follow here to find out more about Focus Teams and how to sign up.
If joining a team doesn't work for you, and if money is an issue, please speak to one of the team on a Sunday or email operations@fabric-church.org to find out about bursaries.
Focus takes place at Newark Showground. It is a two-hour drive from Fabric Church, and parking is available on-site. The nearest train station is Newark North Gate or Newark Castle, which are both just a five-minute drive from the Showground. The easiest routes on the train from Manchester Piccadilly are via Doncaster or Leeds. Where possible, we would love to team up and offer lifts so do ask around or let us know if you need any help with this.
There are a few different accommodation options available at Focus to meet different budgets and requirements. Where possible we recommend camping with Fabric Church! All of these can be booked and paid for at the same time as booking your event ticket. Find out more here.
If you want to camp but feel nervous about the setup or practicalities there will be lots of people around on site when you arrive to help you pitch your tent and get setup (Mark promises to put up your tent!)
You are free to bring whatever you think will help make Focus fun and easy for you! Here are some essential and optional items you can bring:
Tent
Roll mat or airbed (+ pump!)
Sleeping bag and pillows
Ear plugs and eye mask
Picnic blanket
Camping chair
Clothing (and warm layers for night time!)
Hot water bottle
Portable chargers
Toiletries
Flip flops for the shower
Snacks
SUN CREAM! 🙏
There are several toilet and shower blocks, fresh water points and washing-up areas across the site which will all be clearly marked on a site map (available via the app).
Throughout Focus you can buy refreshments from food vendors, cafes and coffee points.
Throughout Focus there is a full programme, but you are free to join in with as much or as little as you'd like. Each day in the morning and the evening everyone gets together in the Big Top (a big tent!) for worship, teaching and ministry. We’ll head over to these sessions together! As well as these main sessions there are loads of other labs/ seminars on a range of topics, and social events including networking, function bands, karaoke, and movie nights - there really is something for everyone! All of the program details are available on the Focus 2025 app, which you can download before you arrive, or @htbfocus on Instagram posts up-to-date info!
Over the weekend we will all camp, eat and hangout at the Fabric community pitch, so there’ll be lots of time to chill and spend time together too!
Whilst there are many food truck options on site, and you are also more than welcome to bring and cook your own food - we will be gathering and eating together as a church every day for breakfast and dinner (as well as putting on a pay-as-you-want low cost lunch option). We find that this is by far the most convenient and affordable for everyone - as well as being a great time to hang out as a community.
Details and sign up for the Fabric Meal Deal will be available closer to the time.
We are going to Focus as a Church family, and that’s what we want to be when we are onsite! We understand the Focus site is big and it can sometimes be hard to find your people, because of this there will always be someone hanging out at the Fabric Community pitch.
Almost everyone eats together twice a day with the fabric meal deal and we also gather for drinks, games and chats at 'Fabby Hour' each day for the hour before dinner.
We appreciate that large scale events are known for being notoriously difficult when it comes to sustainability and looking after our environment. To find out about some of the changes Focus are making to the event centrally by 'going green', you can head to the Focus green page here.
When it comes to Fabric getting to Focus, we're making an effort to buy equipment to last where possible, instead of hiring. We're aiming to avoid using single use plastic, and all of our crockery is biodegradable. If you would like to bring your own reusable keep-cup or crockery you are so welcome to do so!
You can book your ticket online here!
We would love to help you get to Focus so if you have any other questions or need any additional support then please do reach out to any of the team or email mark@fabric-church.org
